Summary Description

Part-time faculty positions teaching courses in ethnic and women’s studies at Crafton Hills College.

Examples of Duties

Teaching courses throughout the multicultural studies program, namely women’s studies and ethnic studies courses including Chicano/a and Latino/a studies, Native American studies and African American studies.

Minimum Requirements

Women’s Studies

A master’s degree in women’s studies OR the equivalent OR a master’s degree in one of the disciplines included in the interdisciplinary area and upper division or graduate coursework in at least one other constituent discipline.

Chicano/a Studies

A master’s degree in Chicano Studies OR a master’s degree in American Studies/Ethnicity, Latino Studies, La Raza Studies, Central American Studies, Latin American Studies, Cross Cultural Studies, Race and Ethnic Relations, Asian-American Studies or African-American Studies OR the equivalent OR a master’s degree in one of the disciplines included in the interdisciplinary area and upper division or graduate coursework in at least one other constituent discipline.

Other Ethnic Studies disciplines

A master’s degree in the ethnic studies field OR a master’s degree in American Studies/Ethnicity, Latino Studies, La Raza Studies, Central American Studies, Latin American Studies, Cross Cultural Studies, Race and Ethnic Relations, Asian-American Studies or African-American Studies OR the equivalent OR a master’s degree in one of the disciplines included in the interdisciplinary area and upper division or graduate coursework in at least one other constituent discipline.

Experience that indicates a sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical and learning disabilities.

Desired Qualifications

Experience teaching ethnic and women’s studies courses at the postsecondary level.

Working Hours Hours will vary depending on the class assigned.
Salary and Benefits

Lecture classes $60.00 per hour

Lab classes $60.00 per hour

Non-Instructional assignments $49.00 per hour
