Our mission is to preserve and advance exciting and fun, medically staffed, year-round Arizona Camp Sunrise and Sidekicks programs for pediatric cancer patients, survivors and their siblings.

The President & Chief Executive Officer (Pres/CEO) is a full-time position and acts as the primary management and fundraising leader of Southwest Kids Cancer Foundation (SWKCF) and Arizona Camp Sunrise & Sidekicks (ACSS) programs. The Pres/CEO is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, administration, budgeting and development of funding and programs for the organization in accordance with the foundation’s mission, strategy and goals established by the Board of Directors.

Within the authority delegated by the Board of Directors of SWKCF, the Pres/CEO will be granted discretionary power to execute the directives and policies established by the Board of Directors. For all financial matters, the Pres/CEO is granted the authority to create expenditures in accordance with the annual budget as approved by the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities:

The Pres/CEO has the primary responsibility of overseeing the day-?to-?day management and operations of SWKCF and supervise ACSS programs and to ensure the objectives of the programs are clearly stated and focused on achieving the foundation’s mission, strategies and goals. Responsibilities and functions of the Pres/CEO include, but are not limited to:

Organizational Development & Management:

  • Prepare annual budget and monitor performance in accordance with SWKCF policies and procedures
  • Assist the Board of Directors in development and implementation of the strategic plan and accompanying goals
  • Assist the Board of Directors in developing and implementing working committees
  • Develop, implement and coordinate fundraising strategy & activities
  • Assist SWKCF committees in developing strategies and actions that support their goals
  • Collaborate with Board of Directors to develop meeting agendas and materials
  • Support the supervision and evaluation of ACSS program volunteers
  • Communicates updates, camp volunteer and foundation activities to all stakeholders using appropriate communication methods/channels

ACSS Program Development & Management:

  • Collaborates with volunteers and staff to set the camp calendar for the year that includes all camp activities, i.e., day camps, retreats and Camp Sunrise and Camp Sidekicks.
  • In partnership with ACSS staff and volunteers develop new programs or revise current programming to further the mission of the organization
  • Collaborate with ACSS program volunteers to establish, evaluate and delegate the responsibilities of ACSS program management
  • Support the recruitment, training & evaluation of program volunteers
  • Reviews volunteer applications and supporting documents, if applicable
  • Approves, or delegates the approval of, all volunteer requests
  • Ensures camp volunteer database is up to date and accurate by managing all volunteer information.
  • Creates and maintains reports from the database to assist in volunteer assignments and registrations for all camp events.
  • Collaborates with outside organizations/other pediatric oncology nonprofits for program (and fundraising) opportunities

Functions:

  • Ability to collaborate with SWKCF Board, vendors, third-party organizations, volunteers, camp Directors and staff to plan and implement camp programming
  • Ability monitor all areas of organization and camp to ensure compliance with SWKCF policies and ACA and COCA-I standards
  • Ability to communicate and work collaboratively with a diverse population of adults, campers and their families
  • Ability to work in an independent environment and manage their time effectively
  • Physically able to participate in SWKCF and ACSS activities, accommodations will be provided as needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $57,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
