Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati, College of Engineering and Applied Science invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position in biomedical imaging. The successful candidate will join the Emission Tomography Imaging Lab (ETIL) in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, which has close collaboration with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Yale PET Center, and the University of Michigan Cardiovascular Center. The position is designed to train recent graduates through working on active research projects to develop image reconstruction and image analysis techniques in multimodality imaging including PET/CT, SPECT/CT, and PET/MRI with a focus on integrating machine learning techniques. The appointment will be two years from the date of hire with a possibility of extension.

Essential Functions
  • The position is designed to train a recent graduate through working on active research projects active research projects to develop image reconstruction and image analysis techniques in multimodality imaging including PET/CT, SPECT/CT, and PET/MRI with a focus on integrating machine learning techniques
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need.

Required Education

Candidates must have a doctoral degree in biomedical/electrical engineering, physics, medical physics, or a related engineering or science discipline.


Required Experience
  • Proven expertise in MATLAB, C/C++ and/or Python programming and skills working with Linux and Windows workstations.
  • Demonstrated experience with tomographic imaging and reconstruction, machine learning with a focus on medical imaging, and programming with one or more of the major deep learning packages (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Caffe, etc.)
