Job Description

Overview

The John H. Pace, Jr. '39 Center for Civic Engagement aims to amplify Princeton students' impact in the world. As articulated in its 2020-2025 Strategic Plan, the Pace Center's work is guided by a set of partnership principles, a commitment to anti-racism, and a student learning framework that centers equity, empathy, and empowerment. The Pace Center offers over 250 summer internships and provides robust programming throughout the summer and academic year, and significant future growth in internships is anticipated. Reporting to the Associate Director of the Pace Center/Director of Service Focus, the Assistant Director will work alongside the Associate Director to support the Pace Center's growing programming related to summer internships and experiential learning. The Assistant Director will have a leading role in designing and implementing approaches, resources, and processes that support expanding student internships in existing internship programs. Based on ongoing assessment of students' interests as well as community partners' needs, the Assistant Director will work with campus partners (including staff, faculty, and alumni) to identify relevant community partners, build relationships with those partners, shape opportunities that meet and advance students' knowledge and skills, and enhance accessibility of these opportunities to students. The Assistant Director encourages, supports and invites diverse perspectives in a commitment to the Center's vision to have Princeton University students make the world more equitable by respecting differences and creating access and opportunity for all people and communities to thrive.

This is a three-year benefits eligible term position, to be reassessed at term's end.
