Key and ID Associate (TEMP)

Job Description

Summary

Under general supervision, maintains hospital’s physical security systems through the issuance and management of keys, access control systems, and employee identification card system. Under FLSA, incumbents in this position are nonexempt.

Responsibilities*

Customer Relations (45%): Prepare and issue photo identification cards for all Michigan Medicine staff and affiliates while adhering to Michigan Medicine M-Card policies and procedures. Assign security access to identification cards as needed utilizing the C-cure access control system. Track and issue keys for customers as needed. Answer phone, check voice-mail messages and daily faxes, and make follow-up phone calls to ensure that customers have the correct information for their identification cards or key issuance. Answer questions for staff and public who enter the office. Administrative Support and Operations (35%): Provide monthly status report of keys and identification cards issued. Update databases; monitor, distribute, and keep records of key inventory and ID cards issued. Call for work-orders when needed. Sort mail and copy information sheets as needed. Monitor inventory and place office supply orders. Miscellaneous (20%): Assist supervisor or other security staff members with projects as needed. Attend meetings. Provide troubleshooting or general assistance as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications*

Associate degree or equivalent education is necessary. Considerable experience in performing progressively responsible office duties or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary. Good communication skills and a pleasant attitude are required. 

Desired Qualifications*

Bachelor’s degree preferred. Ability to type 40-60 wpm, with minimum two years of data entry experience. Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (preferably MS Word and Excel). Must have minimum two years of experience working in customer service related fields with exceptional customer service skills. Must be very organized with attention to details. Ability to effectively multitask and function effectively in stressful, fast-paced environments. Exceptional critical thinking skills.

Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm

Additional Information

Postion starts ASAP and is expected to last 1 year.

Background Screening

If you are selected for this position, in addition to background screening, all Michigan Medicine positions are contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and Michigan Medicine health screening.
