Overview:
Title: Major Gifts Associate Manager
Reports to: Senior Development Manager
Schedule Type: Full-time, Exempt
Location: Office located in Anaheim, CA. Requires some travel throughout the Greater Los Angeles Area.
Pay Range: $65,000-$75,000
Primary Roles & Responsibilities:
- Help our donors accomplish their philanthropic goals and ambitions through a relationship with our organization
- Develop and implement a Major Gifts solicitation program
- Attract new donors and cultivate existing donors through personalized outreach
- Implement an effective donor stewardship program
- Meet collaboratively established goals for donor list size, visits, income expectations and other measurable metrics
- Manage CRM to track and cultivate donors and prospects, including our donor database
- Create and implement moves management strategy
- Make direct, face-to-face solicitations, and assist the board, management and other staff with their solicitation efforts (e.g. provide portfolio development support, strategic counsel, and help with donor communications)
- Acknowledge major donors through public and private recognition
- Track and report progress using specific metrics
- Other relevant tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Business/Marketing or related field is preferred)
- Minimum of two years development experience, preferably in a social justice-oriented nonprofit
- Demonstrated success and effectiveness in the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet strict deadlines
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, interest in engaging individuals and building relationships
- Must have strong initiative and demonstrate the ability to learn in a self-directed manner with minimal supervision
- A record of measurable results in organizing and implementing initiatives
Other:
- COVID-19 Considerations: All employees and visitors are required to follow safety procedures such as wearing a mask on-site. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required as a condition of employment before date of hire.
- Full-time with occasional evenings and weekends required
- Occasional travel locally for outreach including participating in community events
- All CAIR staff are required to assist in general duties such as answering phones, weekly outreach, fundraising, and other office tasks as required
