Adjunct Faculty - Quantitative Methods for Business and Economics

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Lundy-Fetterman School of Business seeks an adjunct instructor for the Fall 2022 semester to teach two sections of MGMT 330 Quantitative Methods for Business and Economics at our main campus in Buies Creek. Classes meet face-to-face on Tuesdays and Thursdays - one section meets from 9:30-10:50 a.m. and the other from 12:30-1:50 p.m.

Available positions are conditional upon minimum student enrollment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and manage course materials from learning objectives and selected textbook
  • Select and administer tests and assignments that permit measurement of performance relative to the course learning objectives.
  • Evaluate and assess student performance.
  • Post grades to Campbell’s Self-Service portal.
  • Accuracy, honesty, integrity and the ability to work with the Christian mission of Campbell University must be maintained.
  • Maintain professional communications with students and staff at all times.
  • Respond promptly, no later than one business day, to student emails and requests for assistance.
  • Ability to teach in an online environment
  • For an online course, Campbell’s Powell Teaching training must be completed prior to teaching the course.
  • Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Candidates should hold a master’s degree in business or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education; a terminal degree is preferred.
  • Prior relevant teaching and/or industry experience is desired.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to communicate effectively through both oral and written channels
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn and utilize new and emerging technology
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard methods of digital communication including web/text/chat platforms
  • Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with University trustees, faculty, staff, and students, as well as members of the business community and public at large
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people
  • Exercise independent judgment in complex and new situations
  • Adaptability, flexibility and a willingness to work in a changing educational environment
  • This position requires accuracy, honesty, integrity and the ability to work within the Christian mission of Campbell University
