ROLE of the POSITION?

The Office for Academic and Career Success in the Lee Business School at University of Nevada, Las Vegas seeks applicants for the role of Administrative Assistant 2. The Administrative Assistant 2 ensures the daily operations of the Lee Business School Office for Academic and Career Success run smoothly.? The office includes Undergraduate Advising and Career and Professional Development as well as supporting several additional Lee Business School programs, including Global Entrepreneurship Experience (GEE), first-year seminar courses, business communication courses, and leadership programs such as the Medallion Program, Lee Business School ambassadors, Nevada Global Business Program, international ambassadors, and peer mentors. The Administrative Assistant 2 will provide support to the aforementioned. The Administrative Assistant 2 position reports to the Administrative Assistant 4.? The Administrative Assistant 2 will run the area that serves as the main entrance and first stop for current and prospective students and visitors to the Lee Business School.? A high level of customer service is expected from the Administrative Assistant 2 at all times.? This includes establishing and maintaining a professional and welcoming environment that will aid students in their pursuit of a business degree and post-graduation employment or education. The Administrative Assistant 2 will support the daily functions of the office, such as, but not limited to: answer telephones, voice messages, emails, instant messages and assist with requests resulting from these inquiries; open and/or close office; skillful use of office equipment (copy machine, computer, printer, fax); maintain calendars for the Office for Academic and Career Success; screen students to determine eligibility for advising appointments or drop-in advising; appointment scheduling; determine eligibility of students for individual or group advising; receive requests for exceptions and refer to designated academic advisor; may train and supervise undergraduate student workers who provide routine administrative support to the unit by creating/maintaining advising records/files and general front office duties; create, access and update electronic files of student records; coordinate and assist with special events, receptions and special projects; distribute and manage mail and deliveries; order clerical supplies as needed; order keys for new employees; purge and archive record retention according to established schedules; request room and parking reservations.??

The successful candidate will demonstrate a proficiency in applying and/or learning the tools necessary for the job including, but not limited to Workday; MyUNLV (PeopleSoft); Google Application Suite; Campus Connect; Adobe Acrobat; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Word.??

Successful candidate is expected to complete job duties as assigned in an accurate and timely fashion, while learning, implementing and upholding state, NSHE and UNLV rules, standards and policies. This position is Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., attendance is an essential job function of the position.??

QUALIFICATIONS?

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

SALARY??

Grade 25 Step 1, salary $33,971.76. "Step" means the number assigned by the Division of Human Resource Management to identify a specific rate of pay within a grade. Per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170), salaries for initial appointments for classified positions typically begin at Step 1.?
