Work Experience

Work Experience: Experience working with IRS documents, US Citizenship documents and any eligible non-citizenship document that qualifies someone for federal grants and experience with managing education grants, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Reliable internet to be able to work remotely.
2. Evidence of strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and effective oral and written communication skills.
3. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
4. Excellent computer skills and competence with Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word.
5. Personal integrity, honesty, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
6. Basic understanding of Financial Aid regulations and documentation (i.e., FAFSA).
7. Proficiency in using Ellucian Colleague.
8. Understanding of the mission, goals, and objectives of a community college.

Essential Functions

1. Assist the Assistant Director, Financial Aid Operations with implementing the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) – Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) 2021 grant which includes but is not limited to collection of applications, selection of applicants in accordance with CRRSAA regulations and required reporting of data.
2. Assist the Assistant Director, Financial Aid Operations with collection of the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) grant applications and selection of GEER Grant recipients.
3. Assist college staff with any additional scholarships or grants, as requested.
4. Be the primary point of contact for students regarding the HEERF CRRSAA of 2021 grant, the GEER grant, and any future HEERF or grants related to the Covid-19 pandemic the college may receive.
5. Be a liaison between students and college staff, collecting documentation that the college may require for the HEERF CRRSAA of 2021 grant and the GEER grant or any future grants related to the Covid-19 pandemic the college may receive.
6. Contact students directly via phone regarding data collected in the HEERF application.
7. Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director, Financial Aid Operations or Director of Financial Aid and Veterans Services

Job Duties

Required Working Hours

This is a part-time, hourly position for an average of 20 hours per week. Working days and times will be negotiated between the employee and supervisor
