This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite on Campus and remote.

DESCRIPTION

The Department of Surgery is one of the largest departments in the School of Medicine and is comprised of 102 full time faculty members, 220 voluntary faculty members, 20 physicians employed on MSP agreements, 25 doctors employed by the VA or other facilities, 77 accredited and 13 non-accredited trainees and 100 career staff. Activities are organized in 13 sub-specialty divisions. Annual expenditures across the Department total over $66.5M with a global research portfolio of over $19M. The missions of research, education and patientcare are intertwined, and are integral to the goals of the department.

The Ross Lab is a data science and translational research lab at UCSD and is based in La Jolla, CA. The lab conducts research using multiple data sources and we collaborate across divisions, departments, and institutions. The program manager will be an integral part of the team, helping ensure efficient and effective execution of research projects and initiatives. The manager's role involves a combination of project management and team coordination. The Program manager will be responsible for keeping track of project objectives, assisting withdeveloping comprehensive project plans, and monitoring progress. The manager may also be involved in grant proposal development, budget management and maintaining compliance with research regulations and protocols. These responsibilities will significantly contribute to the lab's overall success and advancement of scientific knowledge.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus three (3) years of related experience/training.

  • Knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.

  • Analytical/problem-solving skills.

  • Strong skills in analyzing, researching and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals/analyses.

  • Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.

  • Strong policy analysis techniques.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $67,200 - $119,600 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $32.18 - $57.28

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
