POSITION TITLE: Research Technician - Automated Synthesis Facility

POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform a variety of routine scientific tasks; may prepare test specimens; set up and operate standard lab equipment of moderate complexity; record data providing basic analyses and interpretations; may perform a limited number of non-repetitive procedures; perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required or assigned. The lab is generally focused on analysis and purification of samples pertinent to synthetic organic chemistry and chemical biology.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Execute routine sample analysis using HPLC, SFC, MS, or a combination thereof.
• Execute routine sample purification using preparative LC/MS or SFC/MS.
• Effectively communicate with researchers regarding analysis design including project-specific method development requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance of HPLC, SFC, or MS instruments including but not limited to: system start-up, solvent changeover, changing columns, changing collection racks, etc.
• Communicate results of analysis or purification experiments with researchers.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline and up to one (1) year of related experience.
• Three (3) to six (6) years of related laboratory experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field

• Experience with synthetic chemistry (course-related or hands-on)

• Experience with HPLC, SFC, and/or Mass Spectrometry (technical or hands-on)

COMPENSATION:

The expected hiring range for this position is $18.67 to $24 per hour, commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.
