The duties of this position is to culture E. coli to express plant lectin and then purify this plant protein with different chromatograph separations. The day to day duties include prepare LB medium, inoculation, solid and suspension cultures, extraction proteins, preparation of nickel columns, deae-sephadex ion exchange columns, and Sephadex columns, preparation of different equilibration, wash, and elution buffers, purification of proteins, preparation of SDS-PAGE gels, electrophoresis, imaging proteins, and data analysis.

- Experience with preparation of protein extraction and purification buffer, calibration of pH values and LB medium and autoclave
- Experience with the growth and culture of E. coli
- Experience with extraction of proteins
- Experience packing nickel column, equilibration, removal imidazole, and regeneration
- Experience with Isolation of protein from nickel columns and precipitation with acetone or others agents
- Experience preparing 12% SDS-PAGE gel and electrophoresis and imaging of proteins
