Partnership Program Manager

Job Description

Families and Communities in Transition (FACTS) is seeking a Partnership Program Manager (PPM) who will lead the full range of tasks in the grant proposal process. The PPM is a grant professional who is social impact-minded and has superior technical grant writing skills. The role identifies research grant opportunities, leads the faculty process from concept to submission to Notre Dame Research and Compliance (NDRAC) for their submission, handles all grant agreements through NDRAC, completes programmatic reporting, provides needed supports to NDRAC with financial reporting, and monitors that grant deliverables are met. This role will also be responsible for working in partnership with Notre Dame Foundation Relations (NDFR) and project managing the whole process to ensure grant expectations are met.

Who we are: The university has announced a major new Poverty Initiative that is charged with establishing Notre Dame as a premier university in poverty-related research, student formation, and policy impact. Funds from the Poverty Initiative will be used to bolster population science research through its Families and Communities in Transition (FACTS) program.

The Partnership Program Manager’s top priorities will be:

  • Grant Management: Serve as the point person within FACTS for grants management. Maintain a comprehensive approach strategy for all of FACTS funding partners (active/potential) and manage deadlines and due dates for all active and future grants. Active communication with NDRAC and NDFR is critical to keep all grant submissions on track.

  • Grant Writing: Coordination of grant writing with faculty, research associates, staff, and University partners, especially NDRAC and NDFR, to ensure timely grant submission is a key indicator of a successful PPM. The PPM will also be able to translate social scientific research terminology in a manner that is accessible to grant reviewers but maintains the integrity and acuity of the proposed research. This role project manages the entire grant writing process to ensure an efficient process and successful external funding results.

  • Grant Seeking: Conduct prospect research to identify grants aligned with mission and funding priorities. Alignment of faculty research agendas with a granting entity’s (private or federal) research goals is crucial. The PPM will exhibit an understanding of faculty research agendas and be able to identify corresponding funding opportunities in coordination with NDRAC and NDFR.

  • Grant Reporting: Establishing a regular reporting cadence for internal and external stakeholders is critical. The PPM will meet deadlines for all reporting requirements in collaboration with NDRAC and NDFR. They will also generate reports for FACTS leadership on prospects, proposals, and awards.
