• A doctoral degree in economics, health services research, epidemiology, biostatistics, public policy, public health, or related fields with at least five years of professional experience

• Demonstrated success in establishing an independent program of research funding

• A portfolio of peer reviewed publications in economics, health services research, public health and/or medical journals

• Strong foundation in quantitative research methods

• A broad understanding of health policy issues

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to work well in teams

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• Expertise in developing and conducting economic research in health outcomes

• Understanding of health care financing and reimbursement models.

• Expertise conducting cost-effectiveness and cost-benefit analyses in healthcare settings.

• Demonstrated skills in grant acquisition and management, particularly at the federal level (e.g., NIH, AHRQ)

• Demonstrated record of peer reviewed publications in collaborative research in diverse areas of health research.

• Willingness and ability to provide advice and expertise to other health research studies

• Willingness and ability to provide mentoring to junior faculty and fellows

• Excellent organizational skills

• Excellent time management skills

• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and translate research findings to diverse audiences

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate Professor rank or higher

• R01 or equivalent federal funding as a PI or Co-I in health research

• At least five years postdoctoral experience in an academic setting or research institute

• Expertise in working with large administrative claims data for research
