DESCRIPTION

Involves revenue cycle functions for the healthcare enterprise, including medical center billing and follow up related to insurance denials. Requires excellent analytical skills and hospital billing experience to identify root cause and solution for prevention of insurance denials. Ensures account information contains accurate and comprehensive data to provide timely billing and optimal reimbursement for services. Impacts processes to include charge capture, coding, insurance identification, data entry, billing, payment posting, refund processing and collections. May also be responsible for / integrated with business office operations.

Supervises employees responsible for revenue cycle activities. Receives predetermined work assignments that are subject to a moderate level of control and review. Directs subordinates to complete assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies. Works on issues of limited scope. Requires full knowledge of own area of functional responsibility.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Nine (9) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus five (5) years of related experience/training. Related experience: hospital billing/denials management follow up.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience and proven success in supervisory and organizational skills. Ability to effectively manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Epic Resolute Hospital Billing System knowledge and experience.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $82,500 - $151,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $39.51 - $72.56

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
