Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Research Coordinator reports to the Director of the Consortium on Race, Gender, and Ethnicity (CRGE). The Research Coordinator is an integral part of the leadership, research, and administrative team of CRGE and plays a significant role in the CRGE’s programs and goals. The Research Coordinator provides support for all research-related initiatives, outreach activities, and oversight and coordination of programming initiatives, supervision of undergraduate and graduate student workers, and general oversight of day-to-day operations. No permanent staff may supervise 2-3 undergraduate and graduate student workers.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in social and behavioral sciences, public health, and/or higher education, from a U.S. institution of higher education.; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:
  • Four years of experience in grant development and research methods and conduct of research studies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Interpersonal skills to work with departmental staff of director and other unit staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including, grant development and proposal, manuscript editing, professional emails, and other center documents.
  • Proficiency with a wide variety of software including computer software, design (i.e., Canva), newsletter (I.e., MailChimp), website development (ie., Bluehost WordPress), and other instructional technology; Microsoft and Google suites

Preferences:

Preferences:
  • Master’s preferred, in social and behavioral sciences, public health, and/or higher education, from a U.S. institution of higher education.
  • A combination of research management, proposal writing, and relevant substantive knowledge and administrative experience needed to perform the duties described above.
  • The ideal candidate is a self-starter possessing a high level of oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and a strong commitment to teamwork.
  • Awareness of university organizational structure to efficiently work collaboratively with department, college, and internal and external partners. Reviewing and evaluating student research proposals.

Additional Certifications:

CITI certification preferred.

Additional Information:

Salary:$60k-$65k, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Candidates must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the USA. No visa sponsorship is offered for this position.

This is an in-person position. Telework may be available up to two (2) days per week, subject to approval.
