Summary of Position

Reporting to the Director of Education Abroad/Away USA, the Global Education Enrollment Manager position links technology, enrollment processes, and service to the Education Abroad/Away USA stakeholders.

The position is independently responsible for the coordination, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing support of the information systems used by the UNH Education Abroad/Away USA office. These systems currently include Canvas and UNH-Via (Via TRM): this software platform is linked to Banner and International SOS Tracker (travel registry) and is used for students’ global program search, communication, application, and registration processes and forms. In addition, the incumbent is also responsible for student registration, as well as for accurate data management and reporting, derived from these platforms.

The Global Education Enrollment Manager is the lead expert on the management and implementation of the education abroad/away USA enrollment processes regarding programs, applications, forms, and registration, ensuring that all students adhere to these processes and are compliant with UNH international travel and risk management policies.

The Global Education Enrollment Manager supervises and coaches the Global Education Services Coordinator is responsible for the hiring, training, and day-to-day supervision of work-study students; assists with the administration and management of the international travel registry to ensure compliance with the UNH International travel policies.

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years of related experience in education abroad or a combination of higher education and relevant experiences equal to five years.
  • In addition to comprehensive information technology skills and experience, proficiency with data programs such as Excel is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, work with great attention to detail, and manage a high workload, use discretion, and determine priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and in team.
  • Willingness and the capacity to adapt to a fast-paced, multitasking work environment.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the education abroad industry’s policies and best practices; experience with CRM and other software systems such as Via TRM and Canvas, the compiling and reporting of data, basic statistics and survey construction is highly desirable; supervisory experience (work-study and volunteer students); post-baccalaureate education.
  • The individual needs to be willing to work occasionally on Saturdays during the academic year.

Duty/Responsibility

Enrollment Process Management and Communication:
  • Provide leadership in the planning for and implementation of education abroad/away USA enrollment, ensuring that processes and systems support each other.
  • Develop/improve administrative enrollment workflows to increase access and efficiency and help develop best practices for enrollment processes and procedures.
  • Create/update programs, applications, and forms in UNH-Via; assign correct term names to programs in UNH-Via each semester.
  • Manage all student applications and registration documents in UNH-Via and track progress to ensure compliance.
  • Advise and assist students with application and registration processes. Work with students, faculty, and staff, addressing issues and needs within UNH-Via and Canvas.
  • Register students for appropriate placeholder courses.
  • Update message templates and regularly send targeted messages in UNH-Via to students.
  • Create and maintain Canvas courses and invite students into the correct course. Track and ensure student completion of all modules and assignments, including the International SOS e-learning modules.
  • Serve as the Department Scheduler for Education Abroad placeholder courses.
  • Create and track special-fee forms as needed.
  • Liaise with Colleges, Registrar’s, Student Accounts, Financial Aid, and other relevant offices re. student application and registration.
  • Publish, track and report on student program evaluations.
  • Manage all UNH-Via Users and their roles, provide training to new UNH-Via users, such as program directors.
  • Update the Enrollment Manager handbook as needed.

Duty/Responsibility

Systems and Data Management:

1. Enrollment Systems Management
  • Serve as the department’s lead expert related to the use and improvement of the education abroad/away enrollment systems (such as UNH-Via, Canvas, Tracker (travel registry), Qualtrics).
  • Develop and execute training of staff and faculty on any new features of enrollment systems.
  • Propose and lead the improvement of enrollment processes and procedures for efficiency and efficacy.
  • Identify and analyze issues, find solutions, and communicate independently with IT specialists/vendors to address system issues.
  • Advise the team of the systems’ performance, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system-functional specifications.

2. Data Management & Reporting
  • Provide correct data and manage statistical reports for all global education programs at the end of each term, annual reports, and the website.
  • Use UNH-Via TRM and Banner Student data to make reports complete and accurate.
  • Provide global education statistical reports for Colleges and leadership as requested.
  • Complete the annual IIE Open Door Survey as well as the required insurance reports each term.

Duty/Responsibility

Ensure Risk Management Compliance:
  • Assist the Risk Management Coordinator and the Global Education Services Coordinator as needed regarding the UNH international travel registry for University-related travel by individual students, student groups, faculty and staff to ensure compliance with the UNH international travel policies. This includes study abroad and other international experiences such as research, internship, conference, and student group trips. Duties include:
    • Gather trip information from students, faculty, and staff as needed.
    • Create new traveler records and merging profiles when necessary.
    • Serve as the back-up point of contact for students, faculty, and staff regarding the UNH International Travel Registry and insurance.
    • In collaboration with the Risk Management Coordinator, share travel registry and app instructions to faculty/staff and students.
    • Track compliance with the travel registry and app, following up as needed.
    • Issue insurance confirmation of coverage letters and insurance reports.
    • Support and monitor student compliance with completing the ISOS e-learning modules.
    • In collaboration with the Risk Management Coordinator, set up training sessions as needed.

Duty/Responsibility

Supervision:
  • Provide direction and functional supervision and training to the Global Education Services Coordinator.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews of the Global Education Services Coordinator.
  • Independently interview, hire, train, and supervise work-study students.
  • Structure and assign work to the Coordinator and work-study students.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • This position is expected to work occasionally on Saturdays and some nights to assist with Global Education events.
