The DUV Manufacturing Engineering team manages the final assembly and test process for all products in serial production as well as the transition of new products from Engineering to high volume production. Our goal is to continuously improve production practices to strive for best-in-class Manufacturing Operations. This includes, but not limited to: BOM setup and management, creation and maintenance of work instructions, identification of in-process quality control gates, tracking of production yields and top issues, manufacturing cost reduction projects, build & test cycle time optimization, and solving manufacturing-related issues.

The Operations Project Lead (OPL) is responsible for leading projects within DUV Manufacturing Operations that span across multiple departments and require collaboration from cross functional partners to drive to closure. At any given time the OPL may be responsible for multiple short term and long term projects, so ability to prioritize and maintain organization is key. The OPL is part of the Manufacturing Operations team reporting the Head of Manufacturing Engineering.

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. * 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The primary role of Operations Project Lead (OPL) is to manage specific cross-functional projects executed within Manufacturing Operations
  • This includes but is not limited to creating and tracking schedules, budgets, costs, performance targets, resource plans, and general planning activities for team deliverables
  • The OPL is responsible for ensuring that the projects are managed as well as assessing risk and mitigation strategies, highlighting issues and managing their solutions, and coordinating the various development activities to ensure good cross-program communication
  • Manages the development and implementation process of a company's products and services
  • Coordinates departmental or cross-functional teams
  • Monitors the project from initiation through delivery including planning and directing schedules and monitoring budget/spending. Organizes cross-functional activities, ensuring completion of the project i.e. product on schedule and within budget constraints
  • Proactively communicates issues and manages the solution paths
  • Ensures good cross-functional communication (through effective meetings, email, and other means) to ensure coordination between Engineering functional areas and other departments
  • Ensures proper documentation is completed for each development activity, and that adequate documentation exists for product manufacturing and customer service teams
  • Performs lessons learned reviews on key projects and drives necessary changes into the project management process
  • Creates presentations as required to support internal and external program reviews
  • Be the representative to link business line high-level strategy deployment and collaborate with other sectors
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems other technical backgrounds, or other non-technical backgrounds.
  • PMP Certification preferred.
  • BS with a minimum of 3 years work experience or MS with minimum of 2 years work experience.
  • Must have experience leading project teams.
  • Proven ability to leverage internal and external resources to complete tasks.

Other Information

  • This position is located on-site in San Diego, CA. It works on a hybrid schedule, 4 days onsite, 1 day remote. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.
  • Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently $68,625-$114,375. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
