Job Description

The Program Director of International and Graduate Programs will be responsible for executing the administration, expansion and integration of all graduate and international programs offered by the Law School, including student-, faculty-, and alumni-facing aspects of our programs. Working closely with the Associate Dean for International and Graduate Programs, the Program Director will help to develop and implement a strategic plan for expansion of our international programs, as well as a redevelopment of our existing graduate programs aimed, in part, at strategic recruitment of students from regions in which the University and Law School have a special interest.

Specific responsibilities include:
- Oversee the administration of all graduate programs (LLM and JSD). Duties include: supervision of Graduate Programs Manager and Administrative Assistant; travel for international student recruitment; leading review of files for admissions to graduate programs; handling academic discpline and urgent student welfare matters for all graduate students; monitoring post-graduate career outcomes for all graduate students; reporting to Dean, Associate Dean, and Faculty, on graduate programs admissions and post-graduate employment for LLM and JSD students.

- Responsible for direct administration of all international programs, in coordination with NDI, various Global Gateway staff, the Law School’s Registrar, and other campus based and
international units and partners. Duties include working with the Program Director of the London Law Program on admissions and administration of that program; development and administration of student exchange programs; development, administration and promotion of these and new study abroad programs; and development of faculty exchange and research collaboration programs.

- Support for visiting international faculty and students. Along with the Administrative Assistant for International & Graduate Programs, serve as an initial and continuing point of contact for all visiting international faculty and students to assist them prior to, during and after their stay.

- International Programs (summer Honor Scholars Programs and international student exchange programs) and General LLM and JSD program administrative oversight.

- Management of Administrative Assistant, Visitor & Initiative Program Manager and Assistant Director, who will provide administrative program support to the Program Director and Associate Dean.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5-6 years experience, experience managing staff
  • Excellent written and oral communications
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with strategic partners
  • Team player who is able to work collaboratively at all levels in an organization
  • Understanding and appreciation for the mission of the Law School

Preferred Qualifications

  • JD or equivalent first degree in law (e.g. LLB) preferred
  • Experience in international academic program management preferred
