The goal of this project is to improve digital inclusion among farmworkers in North Carolina through broadband expansion and increased access to telehealth. This position will support the research component of the project—for example, conducting interviews with farmworkers and farmworkers, delivering research materials and providing technical assistance to other data collectors, and supporting data analysis. The person hired to fill this position will contribute to academic journal articles and scholarly presentations.
Schedule:
20 hours per week during the hours of 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday, some evening hours required for data collection

Minimum Experience/Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Spanish, Science Education or related field and a minimum of 1 year experience as a member of a grant-funded research team
Department Required Skills
- Prior professional experience working as or with community health workers
- Competency in Spanish (reading, writing and verbally)
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
- At least one year of experience working on a farmworker research project
- Demonstrated record of publication or scholarly presentation in the area of farmworker health, community health, or similar field
Required License or Certification
- Valid driver’s license
