HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION
The Content Specialist supports San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance's mission and vision of saving species worldwide by uniting our expertise in animal care and conservation science with our dedication to inspiring passion for nature. The Content Specialist provides support to the Creative Services and San Diego Zoo Wildlife Explorers team in organizing pre and post productions to ensure quality content is produced in a timely manner and that each project stays within budget and on schedule for San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance to meet all specified creative and marketing objectives, plus administrative support while also handling a wide variety of communications functions for the SDZWE channel. This position reports to the Senior Creative Services Manager.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Ensures all monthly production studio expenses are paid in a timely matter and assists with legal contracts.
- Schedule, coordinate, and facilitate advertorials and celebrity visits.
- Manages San Diego Zoo YouTube Channel by creating strategy for weekly posts, collaborating with YouTube contact, Social Media team, and videographers to ensure regular content is provided.
- Prepares and provides weekly project updates and reports
- Work directly with children's hospitals and Ronald McDonald Houses to track progress of Memorandum of Understanding paperwork, installation, and launch deliverables. Tracks status of pediatric and Ronald McDonald facility commitments, player shipments, and installations of SDZWE channel.
- Provides administrative support to all team members
- Maintains specialized databases, records, project calendar, and files for SDZWE channel
- Creates packets for pediatric trade shows and ships materials
- Implement emergency response plan for studio in collaboration with Risk Management and Security.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Provides support to the content production team in organizing pre and post productions.
JOB EXPERIENCE
- Experience in a production office as a runner or assistant preferred.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor's degree in journalism, business administration, communications, public relations, marketing, or related field preferred.
- CA Drivers License
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Strong working knowledge of zoology, taxonomy and conservation issues.
- Knowledge of video pre and post production scheduling.
- Project management and even planning knowledge required.
- Ability to prepare and present to large, diverse groups.
- Able to operate moderately complex computer software programs.
- Demonstrated ability to and collaborate closely with videographers, talent and other production staff.
- Ability to be adaptable to priorities changing rapidly and regularly and maintain open communication.
- Able to interface effectively with health care, IT and AV professionals.
