Scope of Position

EDF Renewables North America is a market-leading independent power producer and service provider with over 35 years of experience. We deliver grid-scale power: wind (onshore and offshore), solar photovoltaic, and storage projects; distribution-scale power: solar and storage; asset optimization: technical, operational, and commercial expertise to maximize the performance of generating projects, and onsite solutions, through the Company's PowerFlex affiliate, offering a full suite of onsite energy solutions for commercial and industrial customers: solar, storage, EV charging, energy management systems, and microgrids.

This Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the accounting output as well managing the Accounts Payable activities for the Offshore segment. This person will apply accounting, reporting, and internal control knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures in both US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards, as well as to certain standards as required by our external stakeholders, including subsidiaries and related investors.

Responsibilities
    Supervise the Offshore Accounting segment overseeing operating and development stage projects, preparing Financial Statements including disclosures as well as providing technical guidance, performance appraisals of direct reports, review of deliverables prior to submission, etc.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and other departments to establish efficient workflow and processes, including overseeing the set-up of necessary processes in the ERP accounting system, the establishment of standardized journal entries, developing and/or improve various reconciliations to name a few as well as plan and manage the annual audit.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports as needed to support routine reviews, accounting, and financial reporting needs.
Qualifications

Education/Experience -

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in accounting or finance;
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, either in-progress or designated, OR legacy Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Certified General Accountant designation (CGA);
  • A minimum of 10years' experience working within an accounting department (public practice, from a mid-tier or Big 4 CA/CPA firm required);
  • High level proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel; and
  • Previous experience successfully handling multiple projects simultaneously.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities -

  • Excellent administrative, organizational and communication skills required;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized;
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment; and
  • Ability to manage time and work under tight deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

Three days of the week will be working in-person, in office in the Calgary downtown core. The remainder of the work week will be remote or in the office at the employee's discretion.

Working Conditions:

Time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers as well as other office equipment. Frequent use of phones, general office equipment and various software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite products is required.
