Job Description

Introduction:

Enviromental Health and Safety Technician is vital for ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing, risks and promoting a safe work environment. They will concentrate on day to day EHS activities such as hazardous materials and waste management, JSA, Audits and other activities assigned.Works in EHS team of D&E, S&SC, Manufacturing, CS or CRE. Interfaces mainly with (senior) EHS experts and EHS manager of own team and with team leads of own factory/ location. Work is governed by standardized work routines; job holder knows the way around a wide range of procedures. Needs to analyze problems and interpret facts to get to a solution; covers a large variety of issues related to multiple processes. Thinking is associated with the interpretation of procedures to resolve problems within established frameworks; advises on EHS topics based on procedures and processes.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Safety Inspections and Audits:
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Collaborate with EHS team members and site leadership to develop corrective action plans and track implementation progress.
  • Training and Education:
  • Assist in the development and delivery of EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Provide guidance on safety procedures, emergency response protocols, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Incident Investigation and Reporting:
  • Participate in incident investigations to determine root causes and contributing factors.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports and recommendations for corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Ergonomics and Injury Prevention:
  • Support ergonomic assessments and recommend ergonomic solutions to minimize the risk of workplace injuries and musculoskeletal disorders.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement ergonomic improvements and promote ergonomic best practices.
  • Hazard Communication and Chemical Management:
  • Assist in maintaining the site's Hazard Communication Program, including chemical inventory management, safety data sheet (SDS) review, and chemical labeling.
  • Provide guidance on safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Emergency Response Preparedness:
  • Participate in emergency response drills and exercises to ensure readiness for potential emergencies.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Stay informed about relevant EHS regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations, as well as corporate EHS policies and procedures.

Education and Experience:
  • Associate with experience or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in EHS or safety, preferably in a manufacturing or semiconductor environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant EHS regulations, such as OSHA, EPA, and Cal/OSHA.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Certification(s) such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and EHS software applications.

Other information

Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally, up to 15% annually, to support EHS initiatives, collaborate with other ASML sites and partners, and attend training sessions as needed.

The current base annual hourly range for this role is currently $30.11-$50.18. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
