The Mentor Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of the mentorship program designed to support undergraduate students and arm them with the career readiness skills to be successful in today’s workplace.
Primary Responsibilities:
Reports to the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Career Services
Serve as the primary liaison between the Poole College Advisory Board, Associate Dean of Academic Programs, Employer Relations Manager, faculty, staff, and student groups to build the structure and organization of the program
Responsible for the development and execution of mentor and mentee recruiting including matching them based on compatibility with academic and professional goals while fostering an environment for all mentors and mentees to interact and connect with one another to develop secondary mentoring relationships
Establish marketing strategies to promote the mentorship program to internal and external audiences and represent the program at college events, to ensure its continued success and growth
Plan, develop, and deliver career development/coaching services for undergraduate students; assessing individual career development needs and providing students with the necessary information to make informed career decisions
Develop and present periodic training sessions covering topics such as effective communication, networking, and mentorship best practices
Organize workshops, seminars, and social events, both in-person and virtual, to facilitate mentor-mentee interactions and enhance the overall experience of program participants
Lead regular planning meetings with internal partners
Conduct periodic satisfaction assessments, surveys, and interviews to collect feedback from mentors and mentees, including a comprehensive review at the end of each academic year, to assess program effectiveness
Analyze data and outcomes to identify areas for improvement and inform program enhancements
Plan and execute year-end celebration luncheon

Minimum Experience/Education
Master’s degree in counseling, business administration, higher education, student personnel services or related field preferred, bachelor’s degree required plus alternative or equivalent professional training and experience
Minimum of three years of experience within a university career center or business/industry environment involving career and professional development, student affairs and/or student success
Excellent written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
Ability to interact successfully with a variety of stakeholders from senior leaders to early career undergraduate students to develop and manage program
Display creativity, initiative, and positive attitude in carrying out responsibilities
Proven event planning skills
Familiarity with Zoom, G-Suite, and event planning tools
Minimum of three years of experience within a university career center or business/industry environment involving career and professional development, student affairs and/or student success
Excellent written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
