Summary of Position

Under the general supervision of the UNH College of Life Sciences and Agriculture’s integrated marketing director and the director of the New Hampshire Agricultural Experiment Station (NHAES), play critical role in college communications and marketing in support of undergraduate and graduate recruitment, alumni relations, research reputation and visibility, and New Hampshire impact and engagement. Responsible for developing a strategic social media plan, creating content for COLSA’s social channels, managing team of COLSA student ambassadors, initiating new digital communications strategies and tools, and providing graphic design for a range of digital and print materials. Primarily responsible for managing the college’s social media channels, creating and budgeting campaigns and managing outcomes. Requires high level of professionalism, initiative and independent judgement to plan, prioritize and project manage diverse workload.

Other minimum qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree preferably in communications or marketing or a related field.
  2. Experience managing social media accounts, particularly Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
  3. High degree of familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro, InDesign, Lightroom, and Photoshop
  4. Comfortable using a mirrorless camera and microphone setups to capture compelling and visually appealing photo/video content
  5. Experience with and/or enthusiasm for creating short-form video for platforms like Instagram and TikTok
  6. Comfortable communicating about sometimes complex scientific topics
  7. Self-starter who is willing to seek out content ideas and get the ball rolling independently
  8. Persistence when faced with obstacles while managing projects
  9. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift rapidly
  10. Excited to learn new things and grow with the position

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience in higher education communication, particularly social media marketing.
  2. Knowledge of agricultural, natural resource, environmental and life sciences fields.
  3. Knowledge of the State Agricultural Experiment Station system.

  • Create a variety of multimedia content – primarily photos and videos – to be shared through a variety of digital channels, including social media, web, email, and more.
  • This includes the use of professional camera equipment and software such as Adobe Lightroom and Premiere Pro to edit content.
