Director People Operations and Systems

Job Description

Please note that this position is based in San Diego, CA. Acadia's hybrid model requires this role to work in our office three days per week on average.

Responsible for enhancing internal processes and systems to drive greater efficiency to best support the business as we continue to grow and scale including implementing new technologies, processes and systems integrations. Manage and oversee people operations and systems (HCM, LMS and other HR systems) including but not limited to compliance, employee life cycle, policies/handbook, data management, which includes implementations, upgrades, enhancements, automation/streamlining of people operational processes, and data integration, while ensuring data integrity, privacy, security and a great user experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop partnerships with stakeholders to analyze current processes, identify new system functionalities, recommend and implement changes
  • Provide leadership, support and prioritization of all system enhancement requests of key P&P systems including Workday (HCM Core, Compensation, Performance Management, Reporting, Benefits, Absence, and Talent Development modules) and system integrations such as Greenhouse (ATS), Cornerstone (LMS), recognition platforms, etc. to create and maintain P&P Systems Roadmap and optimal functionality
  • Deliver hands-on work in Workday (HCM), Cornerstone (LMS) business process configurations, optimization, reporting and dashboards development, and forward-looking strategies
  • Actively support annual People projects (e.g. open enrollment, performance management, merit cycle, talent management, succession planning, etc.) by providing project management, technical/application support of the process / system design, configuration, testing and support post-launch
  • Actively participates in the value propositioning, and planning of new systems functionality as business needs justify the enhancements
  • Provide scope, scale and design of detailed technology solutions for specific HR business needs
  • Support systems technology upgrades - assessing impact of new features, coordinating rollout with project teams and business leaders
  • Proactively direct projects, project risks/issues and implement effective mitigation plans
  • Oversee Acadia's Paid Time Off program and policies, including system and tactical processes, compliance, and documentation
  • Maintain awareness and knowledge of current trends in HR technology and HR law and regulation
  • Oversees compliance with department dependent SOX & other related controls
  • Develop documentation and provide training to colleagues and users; work in conjunction with Talent Development group as needed
  • Develop customized reports and dashboards that meet organizational and client requirements
  • Assist with development and data gathering relating to EEO, AA, Vets-100 and other compliance-related reporting and projects
  • Participate in related projects as needed in support of People and Performance

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • BS or higher in Business, Computer Science or related field from an accredited college. Equivalent relevant education and job experience may be considered
  • Hands-on and skilled operations and systems expert ensuring that all people-related processes are regularly assessed to optimize effectiveness and efficiency
  • Minimum 10 years of HRIS and people operations experience with 5-7 years of Workday-specific related support
  • Project management expertise to successfully complete projects and achieve quality and timely results in a fast-paced work environment
  • Effectively communicate and manage project stakeholders across multiple levels of the organization
  • Prior experience leading global people operations, systems functions and managing direct reports
  • Design and implementation experience in process enhancement, Workday HCM Core, Performance, Reporting, Compensation and Advanced Compensation
  • Design and integration experience in Greenhouse, Cornerstone, and other platforms preferred
  • Design and implementation experience in Workday Benefits, Talent Management, Succession Planning preferred
  • Demonstrated success in working with, communicating and providing balanced consultation to internal clients at all levels and appropriate to their level of skill and understanding
  • Demonstrated experience successfully integrating and maintaining Workday with other systems (such as ADP, Greenhouse, Cornerstone, etc.)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of OUS data requirements and related privacy laws
  • Experience using various enterprise systems and technology with an understanding of broad data/information flow
  • Ability to understand and identify business needs and translate those to practical solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to work individually and in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve user problems and educate users on resolutions
  • Strong penchant to teamwork and collaboration along with the skills to do so successfully are critical
  • Excellent verbal, written and relationship building/interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, organize and prioritize projects and workload, working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive approach and demeanor

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, see, talk or hear in a standard office environment and independently from remote locations. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for discretionary bonus and equity awards based on factors such as individual and organizational performance. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location.

Salary Range
$185,000-$230,900 USD
