The Exotic Wildlife Association’s “EWA” Mission is to encourage and expand the conservation of indigenous and non-indigenous hoofstock animals, and to support our membership in developing a strong and productive market. The EWA strives to Protect the rights of private property owners; defend the owners against misrepresentations and false allegations of animal rights activists; Articulate the need for “sustainable utilization’ of wildlife; educate policy-makers, the media and the public through research and advocacy; foster development of wildlife industry through animal production and marketing; and provide technical support and useful information to our Members, so as to benefit them and their animals. Ultimately, the goal of the EWA is to promote “Conservation through commerce.”

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the planning, organizing, and directing of the organization’s operations, conventions, meetings and sponsorships.
  • Represent the EWA in legislative events, political events, and other industry leading conventions and meetings.
  • Organize a plan for expansion of the association and membership growth.
  • Develops and implements consistent inventory and cost accounting policies, procedures, and operational reporting/metrics.
  • Oversees and reports on the company results to the Board of Directors.
  • Provides leadership to and manages the efforts of on-site staff to ensure appropriate support of all departments.
  • Fosters healthy member relations.
  • Oversees cost and inventory control of retail products.
  • Retains a diverse, highly qualified staff and provides career coaching, growth, and personal development for direct/indirect report employees.

Work Hours & Benefits:

  • The Executive Director is a full-time position that generally requires attendance in the office Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. Weekend work is needed on occasion, particularly for the associations two auctions/shows each year and representation of the association at other industry leading shows.
  • An allowance for Health Benefits including household family members will be available
  • This position comes with support staff, including continuing education, travel allowance, company cell phone and laptop
  • Two weeks paid time off, after probationary period.
  • Pay will be based on experience and qualifications ranging from $80,000 to $120,000.

Education/Experience:

  • Non-profit work experience preferred but not mandatory.
  • Financial management experience.
  • Management or supervisory experience mandatory.
  • Relevant experience in industry environment.
  • Experience with exotic wildlife, hunting industry, or agriculture industry preferred.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed
