The College is seeking a highly talented professional with a strong work ethic to design and coordinate the delivery of an Aquaculture Technology program. The program has been designed and developed in a highly strategic and formalized process in partnership with aquaculture industry representatives from across the state. This individual will coordinate the delivery of the Aquaculture Technology program to ensure curriculum is relevant and reflective of the highly innovative approaches and the significant growth within the industry in Maine, as well as maintaining the unique remote and hybrid delivery models. The coordinator must remain active with the industry and nurture current partnerships while developing new or enhanced partnerships, utilizing, and leveraging them wherever possible. The coordinator will stay informed of current and future aquaculture initiatives, participate in various meetings and events statewide, and promote WCCC’s short-term and matriculated Aquaculture Technology program. This position also provides student services which include student onboarding assistance, advisement, training program progress review, development and coordination of retention efforts, and connectivity employment opportunities including internship, pre-apprenticeship, and apprenticeship options. It also works to integrate and connect students to key wrap-around supports on campus and in the community and must maintain a respectful, fair, and culturally competent demeanor in working with students, community members, partners, and colleagues. This position may require some nights and weekends, will allow for some remote work, and is grant funded through 8/31/25.

Salary Range: MEA Administrators Unit/salary commensurate with credentials and experience $45,236 to $54,014

Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree and two years of recent experience working in the aquaculture industry with strong ties to the industry and experience in one or more of the following: shellfish aquaculture, algae aquaculture, fin fish aquaculture, and/or re-circulating aquaculture systems. Excellent communication skills, the ability to utilize technology, and work collaboratively with faculty and staff are required.
