The Part-time Surgical Technology faculty member is part of a dynamic team that is responsible for facilitating class and lab components of courses within the Surgical Technology program. Classes and labs are located at the Davie Campus in Mocksville, NC. Courses are offered during the day only. The Part-time Surgical Technology faculty member reports directly to the Program Director.

Essential Job Functions:

● Assist full time faculty in creating meaningful and relevant learning experiences

● Evaluate student progress including the maintenance and submission of instructional records, reports, and grades established by institutional policy

● Maintain accurate inventory of supplies and equipment

● Prepare, break down, and clean laboratory spaces for courses

● Maintains high level of sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds

● Demonstrates flexibility, openness to change, and commitment to working in a collaborative, team-based environment

● Supports the mission, vision, and values of the College

Minimum Qualifications Required:

· Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology from a regionally accredited institution

· Possess credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA)

· 1 year work experience as a surgical technologist

Preferred Qualifications:

· 3 years of experience in either an operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology

· Prior experience teaching or training in the field

· Community College teaching experience

· Experience using a Learning Management System, such as Moodle, to deliver course content
