The Utilities and Maintenance department is responsible for the efficient operation, management and upkeep of all campus electricity, heating and cooling, as well as the repair and upkeep of all electrical, mechanical, carpentry, plumbing and roofing maintenance at the University. This department and the team of engineers, power plant operators, zone managers, technicians, mechanics and administrators service over 11 million gross square feet of campus facilities and lead the University’s efforts to reduce its carbon emissions footprint by 50 percent by 2030.
The Maintenance Technician “C” is to serve as a member of a Maintenance work group whose responsibilities include being a First Responder to building issues of all kinds as well as providing building maintenance service for a defined zone of campus. This work shall include but not be limited to performance of preventive and predictive maintenance, routine tasks, diagnosis of evolving issues and problems, implementation of repairs, and coordination with supervisors, customers, peers and contractors to achieve problem resolutions, in order to provide functioning buildings that meet user and administration expectations. This position shall be available to respond to building systems malfunctions or issues at all times and may be required to be reachable at all times.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required. Must have previous technical school or apprenticeship program experience. Must have 2 years of experience with the following:
- Preventive Maintenance
- Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical Background
- Controls, Pneumatics, Electronics
Must possess the following special knowledge, abilities or skills:
- Building HVAC systems, controls and associated equipment knowledge.
- Pneumatic/electronic controls, electrical equipment and mechanical equipment operation, troubleshooting and repair.
- Computer literacy to allow for interface with Work Order Systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to read and understand drawings and schematics.
