Position Summary: Under general supervision of The Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Development plans, coordinates and implements a comprehensive fundraising plan for The Recovery Center. Oversees marketing and fundraising coordinators and assistants.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Design and implementation of an approved, comprehensive fundraising plans through market segment research and analysis of referral, donor and event forecasts;
  • Communicates effectively with Public Relations and Fundraising Committees and volunteers;
  • Establish cooperative internal employee relationships and cooperative agreements with other non-profit organizations, as well as, for-profit entities to achieve fundraising goals;
  • Create and monitor content regularly to grow the company’s footprint (press releases, corporate announcements, and creative content online/social media);
  • Prepare and submit reports (written, verbal and group presentations) by collecting, analyzing and summarizing market data.
  • Manage portfolio of donors
  • Provide leadership to development team.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on progress towards fundraising goals
  • Plan and execute special events
  • Manage grant writing and identification of new grant opportunities
  • Generate donor communications, newsletters, and annual reports. Network and maintain regular correspondence with donors and referral sources.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or any equivalent work experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the position.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of marketing experience;
  • A proven track record of successfully meeting fundraising goals and securing gifts;
  • Education, training and/or certification specific to fundraising;
  • Interest, enthusiasm and affinity for fundraising and working with people;
  • Self-starter, innovative and capable of successfully executing multiple tasks;
  • Adaptive and capable of taking on additional duties as assigned or self-directed;
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting task ownership and exploring opportunities to add value to the position.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to call, meet and communicate with people easily;
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal communication and presentation skills;
  • Applied understanding of basic fundraising principles and development best practices
  • Strong prospect identification and qualifications skills
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading ability.
  • Database and spreadsheet proficiency
  • Experiences with online fundraising, email marketing and internet research.

Physical Demands:

  • Standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing stairs, stooping, and bending.
  • The employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Light Lifting.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouse;
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job are close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
