Job Description

The Office of Information Technologies (OIT) is hiring an IT Solutions Consultant. This position is responsible for understanding campus partner areas’ operational needs and implementing IT services and solutions to achieve organizational goals and objectives. This position requires a wide breadth of technical knowledge, willingness to learn, and people skills to foster ongoing relationships.

This position is aligned with a team that supports many different campus partners, which may include high-level executives and on-call after-hours availability. It will be embedded in and support the departments with IT consulting, initiatives, and day-to-day operations. An IT Solutions Consultant is a hands-on, mostly on-site position requiring extensive interaction with students, faculty, and administrative staff. They are responsible for the technology in our partner areas, including, but not limited to, support for the following:

Individual deskside support, division technology, classrooms, and auditoriums, including audio-visual equipment, computer labs, large-scale printers, and other hardware and software as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, strong written and oral communication skills, strong documentation skills, and strong customer service orientation.

Competency in the support of:
  • Mac and Windows OS
  • G-suite applications
  • Learning Management Systems
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve minor network or infrastructure-related issues
  • Working knowledge of audiovisual solutions for classrooms or conference rooms
  • Experience in technology consulting, requirements gathering, and documenting business process flows.

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications that would be nice to have include:
  • Project Management
  • Business Analysis
  • Quality Assurance
  • MECM and JAMF for centrally managed Image deployment
