The Coordinator of Retreats (COR) develops, coordinates, executes, and evaluates Campus Ministry retreats so as to create compelling opportunities that offer students deeper relationships with Jesus Christ. The COR works with student leaders to evangelize and invite students into authentic communities of discipleship on campus, and to meet a variety of spiritual needs. Specifically, the candidate must have experience in faith formation of young adults, the capacity to articulate Catholic theological perspectives, a clear vision for recruiting and forming student leaders, a firm understanding of team building, and the aptitude to do so within the context of the Holy Cross charism.
The COR will strive to continually grow and deepen his/her own spirituality and seek greater insight into methods of evangelization and faith formation with young adults. The COR need not attend every retreat that Campus Ministry offers, but will strategically determine with their supervisor their attendance and that of other staff to ensure a robust presence at every retreat.

1. Develop and maintain Campus Ministry retreats for first year students. The COR will recruit, train, and form teams to lead retreats, manage budgets, assess the experience, and serve as a resource person for other campus spiritual and pastoral leaders who will provide training for the retreat team. These include but are not limited to:
- Connect First-year retreats – Oversee and run retreats for all first year students in the Fall semester. Campus Ministry currently offers one, but this will develop and grow in conjunction with the Moreau First-year Experience.
- Multicultural First-year retreats – Work under the vision of the Assistant Director of Outreach and in collaboration with staff from Multicultural Student Programs and Services, recruit, train, and form teams to lead our three multicultural retreats. This is a year-long process of formation and planning for these leaders.
2. Oversee the Notre Dame Retreat Program (NDRP):
- Create content, promote, and organize combined residential hall retreats.
- Work with and support residence hall rectors and their teams with training and resources, enabling them to run their own hall retreats.
3. Recruit, hire, and train student ministers for study abroad programs in London, Rome, and Ireland during the fall and spring semesters. Support select programming efforts in Rome, London, and Dublin as they emerge in the coming years.
4. Serve as an integral member of the Campus Ministry staff and work on additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Active understanding of young adult accompaniment, spirituality and faith formation.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong networks aimed at student flourishing.
- Experience developing and leading a variety of retreats.
- Ability to articulate how retreats build upon and intersect with other faith experiences is essential.
- Strong pastoral, administrative, and organizational skills.
- Proficient knowledge of Google Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Theology or related field.
