San Diego's Newest Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT)

  • Telecare San Diego's newest behavioral health program is a 24/7, Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) serving individuals of all ages experiencing mental health crisis.
  • MCRT is creating an opportunity for Clinicians, Case Manager Master's, and Certified Peer Supports to intervene in a unique way that has never been done before in our system of care.
  • This program collaborates and accepts referrals from the San Diego Access and Crisis Line (ACL) and law enforcement.
  • San Diego's MCRT will offer crisis triage and management, risk assessment, in-person intervention, and case management.
  • Each team will respond to calls from the mobile crisis van to provide services directly in the field in the following San Diego Regions: Central, East, South, North Central and North Inland.

What are the qualifications? (Must Have)
  • High school diploma and GED
  • 18 years of age and older
  • Certified peer support specialist and/or completion of peer training
  • Two years of experience or part time equivalent of experience supporting individuals with behavioral health issues
  • Driver's license and vehicle insurance that is current and valid with your name listed as the driver
  • Position requires transporting Members in program van (acceptable driving record)

    What will your role entail?
    • Dispatched and responds to emergency / crisis events in the community across San Diego County
    • Provides onsite therapeutic interventions support to persons and families in crisis
    • Collaborates with other First Responders as needed to provide onsite crisis support including, but not limited to, transporting members to appropriate levels of care
    • Will act as a leader for the dispatched mobile team, providing clinical guidance and instruction to team members
    • Will complete a concise assessment to paint a clinical picture of the members needs and provide appropriate treatment recommendations
    • Making appropriate referrals for placement, case management and aftercare services, as assigned
    • Developing and maintaining an awareness of community resource

    Employment Status
    • Full Time (4 days/wk)
    • Part Time (3 or 2 days/wk)
    • *Needs to be able to work either Saturdays or Sundays

    Shifts Available
    • AM: 5:30 am - 4:00 pm
    • PM: 2:30 pm - 1:00 am
    • NOC: 9:00 pm - 7:30 am

      • 4 10s schedule (10-hour shifts)

      Expected starting wage range $22.00 - $26.00. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.
