Overview

The HR Specialist will be responsible for assisting in the management and administration of the company's employee benefits programs, including group health insurance, retirement plans, and leaves of absence. This includes communicating with employees about the programs, and working with vendors to ensure that the programs are being administered properly. The HR Specialist will also be responsible for assisting employees with enrolling in the programs, answering questions about the programs, and resolving any issues that may arise.

Responsibilities
    Communicate with employees about the company's benefits programs, including group health insurance, retirement plans, leave of absence, etc.
  • Work with vendors to ensure that the programs are being administered properly and that employees are receiving their benefits
  • Assist employees with enrolling in the programs and responding to questions.
  • Manage benefits requests and inquiries through company's ticketing system
  • Resolve any issues that may arise with the administration of the benefits programs
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of the company's benefits programs, including enrollments, claims, and other data as required
  • Coordinate the company's wellness program
  • Handle leave of absence requests from employees, including processing paperwork, tracking leave balances, and ensuring that leaves are being taken in accordance with company policy and relevant laws
  • Conduct periodic benefits audits to ensure that the programs are being administered properly and that the company is in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with the HR team and other departments to ensure that the benefits programs align with the overall goals and objectives of the company
  • Administer the COBRA process in conjunction with insurance carriers
  • Assist with the annual and special benefit open enrollment process
  • Assist with other HR functions as needed.
  • Collaborate with HR team to maintain employee records, ensure data accuracy, and uphold confidentiality standards.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in employee benefits or human resources
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to employee benefits, including the ACA
  • Experience in ADP or other HR data systems

The pay range for this California position is $24.04 - $31.25 per hour; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
