The University of Notre Dame’s Jerusalem Global Gateway has launched a new certificate program in software and computer engineering, adam – coding & beyond. The Gateway’s management is seeking an expert in software engineering and/or computer coding to be responsible for the program’s curriculum, including academic advice and instruction. The Associate Director will advise and work collaboratively with the Director of Project Management who leads the operational execution of the program.

The Associate Director is responsible for the following key areas:
● Implement and further develop the curriculum of the Gateway’s initiatives in computer coding/software engineering, with focus on “adam – coding & amp; beyond”
● Develop teaching materials, and offer introduction modules to the program participants as part of the curriculum implementation (e.g. teaching classes)
● Advise program participants on curricular and extra curricular activities and issues, offering them advice and mentorship
● Conduct regular evaluations of program participants as a measure of success
● Ensure a continuous evaluation of the systems in place (including hardware and software used in the program) and offer solutions to keep up with increased expectations
● Offer training sessions to other staff members where applicable
● Advise and work collaboratively with the Director of Project Management on the operational execution of the program, supporting the team where applicable and needed
● Work collaboratively with a set of Notre Dame colleagues in order to ensure that the program stands in line with the Universities’ academic standards, including faculty and staff in Jerusalem and South Bend
● Work collaboratively with the entire Global Gateway team and other colleagues from the University to design and develop additional initiatives around technology and innovation
● Potentially collaborate, lead or support research projects that leverage the Gateway’s programs and capabilities in technology and innovation

Minimum Qualifications

● Proven track record (knowledge and experience) in software engineering, computer science, computer coding or a related field (at least 5 years of work experience)
● Experience in the field of pedagogy, curriculum development (e.g. in a University setting or a related field) is a clear asset, but not a requirement for the application
● Passion for technology and innovation, combined with a clear interest in pedagogy and academic advising
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a clear solutions-oriented approach
● Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and inclusive team environment
● Ability to motivate, coach and support (young) program participants
● Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
● English is a must. Arabic and/or Hebrew proficiency is an asset

This is a full time position that is based at the offices of the University of Notre Dame in
Jerusalem (Tantur campus).
