Position Summary:

The Systems Verification Manager will work with the Development team in the system integration and testing of our In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) products. The systems verification manager will provide mentorship and leadership to a team of Verification Engineers, product management and other team members in the system integration and testing of our medical devices and to ensure the needs of the market are met.

The annual base salary range for this role is $165,000 to $185,000 final compensation will ultimately depend on factors including education, relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, and business needs.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide group leadership/mentorship to system verification engineers.
  • Assist with the development of software requirements and perform tracing of design inputs to design outputs.
  • Provide technical leadership and show mastery in the use of our products.
  • Provide technical direction to product management in the development of user needs.
  • Develops test automation solutions and chooses tools for regression testing.
  • Analyzes requirements and design specifications from a systems perspective.
  • Develops strategies for system software and hardware testing.
  • Develops system and subsystem test procedures based on product and/or subsystem requirements.
  • Develops test automation and/or test bench component solutions in support of functional and reliability testing, with detailed documentation.
  • Participates in hazard and risk analysis.
  • Supports design activities and attends design reviews.
  • Creates verification reports and overall verification summary reports for systems verification activities.
  • Works with product management to investigate complaints during product launches.
  • Creates work breakdown schedule estimates.
  • Creates and executes test plans and procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position

  • BS/BA degree in CS, EE, ME, Biomedical or related Engineering discipline required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of engineering management experience.
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience in the full development lifecycle for product delivery to market of at least one product required.
  • Experiencein Python is desired.
  • Test automation experience required.
  • Testing experience in medical device development or other Regulated industry required.
  • Experience designing and/or creating and utilizing test bench components for system/components testing is desired.
  • Broad technical understanding of multiple disciplines from electrical, mechanical, software is desired.
  • Familiarity with reliability testing is desired.

People Manager Accountabilities:Effectively carries out the expectations of Werfen People Managers as defined in Werfen's Role of the Manager program. Among others this includes maintaining regular, at minimum once a month, and transparent communication with the team through effective use of formal one-on-one meetings with direct reports and team meets. Managing performance issues and conflict proactively; uses judgement in consulting with department leadership and Human Resources. Responsibility for the teams compliance in terms of training, and fulfilment of their tasks and objectives as well as onboarding of new employees and development of the existing team
