Join us as an integral member of the Executive Leadership team, serving as the strategic leader of Sun Health Foundation. Reporting to the President, the Chief Engagement Officer's responsibilities encompass Marketing and Philanthropic responsibilities along with evolving the Sun Health identity. The Engagement function will be the primary conduit for establishing a coherent, holistic, and compelling brand and aligning internal and external messaging that clarifies the Sun Health mission, identity, and purpose

Some of the main responsibilities:

  • Acts in accordance with President & CEO's direction to be primary contact with Governing Board regarding matters within the community engagement, marketing, and branding purview. Responsible for preparing and presenting community engagement and marketing initiatives and working with and reporting to the appropriate board committees, to include wellness and marketing.
  • In tandem with the President & CEO and the Foundation Governing Board, strategically creates, plans, develops and implements appropriate governance, donor relations and stewardship policies, procedures, and programs to support Sun Health Foundation's mission to encourage charitable giving for the enhancement of nonprofit health and wellness. Responsible for preparing and presenting community engagement and marketing initiatives and working with and reporting to the appropriate Foundation board committees - fundraising, stewardship, council of professional advisors and community events. Builds and maintains donor trust as well as community and stakeholder relationships that support the achievement of short-term and long-term fundraising goals.
  • Serves as a member of the Sun Health executive leadership team to strategize and develop a customer centered environment; establishes a coherent, holistic, and compelling brand, aligning internal and external messaging, promotes the use and implementation of technology in the workplace to enhance and streamline communications to improve resident, donor, member, guest, and philanthropy experiences.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors an enterprise-level marketing strategy along with complementary functional strategies that drive optimal return on marketing investments, create champions in the donor and resident communities, reach a broader and more diverse community demographic, design and implement community wellness as an extender in the greater community and drive mechanisms that support sustainable enterprise growth.
  • Maintains brand standards and ensures compliance across all marketing and communications channels; works with the COptO to develop a fully integrated customer relationship management platform for the enterprise.
  • Builds relationships with media and stakeholders through creative PR strategies; builds and maintains relationships with civic and government leaders, attorneys, accountants, trust officers, stockbrokers, and investment counselors to gain their support of Sun Health; promotes general fundraising efforts such as speaking to and attending functions of a variety of professional and business groups.
  • Oversees the development, promotion and implementation of special events, service line promotions, facility openings and tours, direct mail efforts, grant writing, sponsorships, and enterprise activities particularly as it relates to prospects and donors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or higher preferred.
  • Has leveraged market research to successfully transform the public-facing brand of an organization.
  • Has influenced key stakeholders to change, enhance and promote an organizational brand; has raised funds through a philanthropy department on the order of $10M-$15M per year.

  • Has developed and managed a volunteer workforce in the context of a philanthropic department.
  • Has employed various tools to help donors achieve their desired goals.
  • Business Strategy Formulation: Has made strong decisions informed by performed market, competitor, customer or other business analyses; established growth, differentiation and/or other function or enterprise-level strategic priorities; developed operating plans and budgets aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Business Unit Leadership: Has had formal responsibility for the growth and performance of a 300+ employee, multi-site organization or business unit (5-10 years, Vice President level or above); has a track record of successfully leading teams to achieve expected priorities and outcomes; has defined roles and accountabilities, provided work direction, and allocated resources to achieve function or business unit objectives.
  • Change Leadership: Track record of successfully executing plans, managing people and allocating resources through significant change initiatives or business transformation efforts.
  • Industry Experience: Has held progressively greater leadership responsibility in a health-related industry and/or a senior living/hospitality/philanthropy sector specifically.
  • Performance Management: In the course of managing personnel, has a demonstrated track record of accurately identifying performance issues, addressing those issues with urgency, and achieving successful resolution.
  • Board Partnership: Has successfully presented to Boards, partnered with Board committees and engaged individual Board members in a collegial manner.
  • Functional Experience: Has a track record of achieving strong performance by relying on functionally relevant skills.
