Montgomery College, Rockville Campus, has an immediate need for a Full-time Training & Development Coordinator in the Professional Development Team of the Office of E-Learning, Innovation, and Teaching Excellence (ELITE). The work schedule is Monday - Friday from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. This is a non-bargaining, Exempt, Grade 29 position. Montgomery College promotes and creates a working and learning environment rooted in the basic tenets of fairness, diversity, and inclusiveness. This position is currently eligible for telework 1 (one) day a week. This eligibility is subject to change based on the needs of the ELITE unit. 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Plan and implement complex employee development programs for all categories of college staff; confer with college administrators regarding development goals and assess training needs.
  • Schedule and implement the annual calendar of classes and cohorts.
  • Coordinate cohort application and selection and create and maintain participant database.
  • Elicit feedback from training participants and use feedback to evaluate and improve training content.
  • Strategically plan and create training and development plans and programs.
  • Arrange for and coordinate third party development offerings.
  • Design and distribute learning modalities in various forms, i.e., computer-based training, demonstrations, presentations, learner participation in role playing, group exercises, etc.
  • Develop assessment measures and monitor training effectiveness.
  • Design and facilitate retreats and meetings.
  • Monitor expenditures within budget allocation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Training and Development, Psychology, Education, Organizational Development, Organizational Communication or a related field from an accredited college or university OR any acceptable combination of education, training, certification, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be substituted for those listed.
  • Four years of progressively responsible experience in assessing, designing, developing, and delivering instruction incorporating theory and skill-building practice, preferably in an educational institution.  
  • Training and/or certification in Universal Design and/or Universal Design for Learning.
  • Thorough knowledge of and ability to apply the concepts and principles of adult learning and instruction and organizational development.
  • Ability to design, develop, coordinate, and deliver cohort training curriculum; remain current in trends, topics, and issues in training and development; arrive at sound decisions through analysis and evaluation; manage multiple projects; and plan, organize, and set priorities on assigned work.  
  • Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with relevant legal and policy frameworks related to accessibility and disability rights (e.g., ADA, Section 508).
  • Willingness to engage in continuous professional development in the fields of universal design, accessibility, and educational technology.

Hiring Range $69,668 to $90,580 annually. Initial salary placement is based on candidate experience and internal equity.  Please include a complete resume including all relevant and related work experience.
