Planning Analyst I

SUMMARY

Modifies simple computer analysis tools or database under direction. Provides administrative support for planning processes. Performs analysis of project performance and variances. Reports to Senior Supervisor Planning, Interacts with internal and external customers. Performs all tasks under close supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

  • Tracks distribution of project deliverables
  • Receives, records, distributes, NASSCO Planning products, owner and regulatory body correspondence and other material as directed.
  • Maintains progress reports for assigned activated, processes or projects.
  • Maintains computer databases and spreadsheets for analysis and control of assigned activities, processes and projects under supervision.
  • Assists with the technical library by ordering required material and maintenance of the collection.
  • Participates in meeting related to assigned tasks.
  • Maintains correspondence database and LiveLink.
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school graduate plus three years experiences in shipbuilding or related field, or Associates Degree in relevant field.
  • Working Knowledge of at least MS Office.
  • Demonstrates communication and customer service skills.
  • Actively participates in implementing and monitoring continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, improve quality, reduce cycle time, and reduce costs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work primarily conducted in an office setting with good lighting. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing. Must be physically able to commute to buildings throughout the shipyard. Occasional exposure to dust, fumes and moderate levels of noise.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Success in the position requires careful attention to detail and is reflected in accurate and current file keeping, reliable status and progress reporting, and timely completion of assigned tasks.

PAYSCALE:

$41,500 - $63,800

Salaried Roles

This pay range is a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. It takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, and education.
