Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Data Effectiveness Coordinator for the Title V LEAD grant is responsible for the collection, logging and tracking of data gathered for incoming LC students. Researching information of the unique needs of returning students, academically at risk students, and students nearing completion/graduation is needed. The Data Effectiveness Coordinator is responsible to provide direct support in the development, publication and dissemination of reports and presentations including compilation of data, creation of charts, tables, and incorporating input from various sources. The Data Effective Coordinator is also responsible in assisting with the cleaning and standardization of data to identify errors and inconsistencies. The Data Effectiveness Coordinator will organize academic success and retention interventions in a comprehensive planning format, including benchmark and communication strategies. The Data Effectiveness Coordinator is also responsible for providing general information on transferring protocol, specifically for LC student transfer to our partnering institutions (TAMIU/TAMUK/UTSA). 

 
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provide coordination of all data collection activities and provide data entry training and support to 
  2. Direct the day-to-day activities involving data collection and database management.
  3. Assist in preparation of data reports, training materials, program presentations, publications, marketing collaterals, and other educational training materials
  4. Provide weekly written reports to Activity Director
  5. Perform extracting, importing, and exporting of data in various database applications. 
  6. Carry out the collection of the data to evaluate progress of the project and submit to Director
  7. Work collegially and cooperatively with others to accomplish grant goals and objectives,
  8. Provide professional support in data management and reporting. 
  9. Collect, extract, compile, and report institutional and transferring data, while maintaining the confidential handling of student records.
  10. Collaborate with Activity Director to identify barriers to increase retention and graduation rates. 
  11. Compile and utilize data that supports communication with students to assist in the development and implementation of assessment instruments for the evaluation and improvement of student retention strategies and activities. 
  12. Maintain confidential student documentation, information, records, and files. 
  13. Possess thorough knowledge of LC student support services
  14. Provide time and effort monthly reports to Activity Director 
  15. Attend meetings and trainings as required.
  16. Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Project Director, Activity Director, Associate VP of Student Success and Support Services, and External Evaluator as needed.


Qualifications/Certifications/Licenses/Skills

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics or related field.
  • Five years of job-related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience; business management experience involving educational grant management and reporting. 
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other software, web-based tools databases, and other relevant technologies. 
  • Communication and writing skills (Spanish/English).
  • Experience working with Hispanic students and first-generation college students.
  • Must have a valid Texas Drivers License

Preferred:
  • Master’s degree in a related field and with training in analysis, (i.e. data analysis, statistical analysis or data management) and student support services (recruitment, advising and coordinating academic retention efforts).
  • Worked with underrepresented students and experience accessing data from student information system such as Banner.

Physical Requirements  
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
