The Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame is seeking an accomplished and experienced leader for the position of Senior Director, Graduate Career Development & Alumni Engagement. The Senior Director will lead the graduate career development team in the development and execution of a career coaching, curriculum and employer relations strategy for the College’s diverse portfolio of 9 graduate programs, culminating in ~800 graduate students securing internships and full-time roles, annually. They will also lead the College’s efforts to proactively engage all business alumni in the work of the College toward its strategic priorities.

The Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame is seeking an accomplished and experienced leader for the position of Senior Director, Graduate Career Development & Alumni Engagement. The Senior Director will lead the graduate career development team in the development and execution of a career coaching, curriculum and employer relations strategy for the College’s diverse portfolio of 9 graduate programs, culminating in ~800 graduate students securing internships and full-time roles, annually. They will also lead the College’s efforts to proactively engage all business alumni in the work of the College toward its strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive career coaching, curriculum and employer relations strategy for the College’s graduate programs, including the residential MBA (2-year, full-time), working professional (Global EMBA and Executive MNA) and residential specialized master’s (MNA, MSA, MSBA, MSBA-Sports Analytics, MSF, MSM) degree programs.
- Collaborate closely with College leadership, faculty, staff, the Alumni Association and other key stakeholders to identify and implement strategies for engaging and involving all business alumni in the work of the College.
- Lead a team responsible for the functions that drive graduate career outcomes and alumni satisfaction, including career curriculum, coaching, employer relations, business development, operations, analysis, reporting, programming and administration.
- Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions and continuously enhance the effectiveness of strategies, processes and specific efforts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with campus partners, other institutions, corporate partners, alumni, and other external constituencies to support career outcomes.
- Represent the College externally to promote graduate business students and all business alumni while fostering relationships with employers, industry associations and affinity groups.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and innovations in graduate career development and business education.
- Oversee the strategic allocation of resources, including talent and budget.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in higher education.
- 5+ yrs of demonstrated leadership experience, including experience building and developing a team.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on a team of executives in a complex environment to achieve ambitious goals.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to envision and implement innovative career development, employer relations and alumni engagement strategies.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills to inform decision-making and measure the success of career development, employer relations and alumni engagement initiatives.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or advanced business-related degree.
- Progressive experience in graduate business career development.
- A track record of delivering results over an extended time with sustained performance in the face of adversity and unfavorable macro environments.
