The Division of Liberal Arts, Communication & Social Sciences invites applications for American Sign Language Adjunct Faculty.
Sinclair is currently seeking part-time (adjunct) faculty for courses at our downtown Dayton campus; Courseview campus in Mason, OH; and Englewood and Huber Heights Learning Centers.

Principal Accountabilities
- Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning
- Prepare, distribute and submit syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies
- Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate
- Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student’s needs
- Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success
- Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning
- Maintain accurate records of student progress
- Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines
- Maintain confidentiality of student information
- Cannot exceed maximum of 12 credit hours per semester
Requirements
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Interpreter Education or related field is required. Master’s degree preferred
- Proficiency in ASL is a must. Native or native-like signing skills.
- National Interpreting certification (RID/NIC) preferred.
- Evidence of successful prior teaching (ASL/Interpreting) experience is preferred
- A demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level
- Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse college community
- Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction
