Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Dual Credit Success Coach plans and coordinates the Dual Credit Program at a given Independent School District, linking high school students to community college coursework for college credit.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Interface with high school teachers within designated ISDs to disseminate information and connect with students.

Conduct annual reviews and updates Dual Credit Program with assistance from area high school administrators and Houston Community College faculty.

Present orientation sessions for college faculty, ISD counselors, and high school students.

Implement the recruitment plan for students.

Meet regularly with students and parents to identify needs to ensure a smooth transition into college.

Develop and implement a transition plan and coaching for dual credit students into college.

Coordinate special events involving high school participants.

Attend workshops and conferences related to dual credit.

Attend the workplace regularly, report to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite.

Complete all required training and professional development sessions required.

Support the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation and creativity and service to the College.

Position requires working evenings and weekends in addition to regular work schedule and travel between various HCC locations and partner schools.

Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Academics or Counseling
  • 2 years working in a college environment in Student Services and/or teaching required
  • Experience in dual credit, counseling or advising, or teaching in a high school preferred
Licensing & Certification
  • Valid Texas Driver License

Working Conditions
General Office. Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift; move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment; apply established protocols in a timely manner. Must access, input and retrieve information from technology devices; communicate with others to accomplish job requirements. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
