Summary of Position

Under the general administrative direction of the Center for Coastal and Ocean Mapping’s Director or Associate Director, or other designated supervisor, manage quotidian and strategic aspects of CCOM operations, including fiscal management, progress reporting, and local and global logistics.

Other minimum qualifications

  • Master’s degree in appropriate field, and six or more years of related project management experience; or a Bachelor’s degree and eight years experience.
  • Background knowledge of science and engineering methods, including computer programming, experiment design, and field experiments.
  • Financial management, forecasting, analysis, and reporting skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in engineering, physics, ocean sciences, or other related field.
  • Experience of working in a grant-funded university research environment.
  • Experience managing major academic research projects.
  • Experience working with US Federal government contracts, including reporting requirements and best practices.
