Jefferson Community College, Watertown, New York, a member of the State University of New York (SUNY) system, is conducting a search for the Executive Director of Human Resources. The Executive Director of Human Resources provides expert consultation and direct administration of the human resource functions for the College. Reporting to the Vice President for Administration and Finance, the Executive Director must be an experienced Human Resources (HR) professional, providing strategic vision, leadership, and management including oversight of the Office of Human Resources and its staff. Areas of responsibility include compensation, benefits, recruitment, employee and labor relations, collective bargaining, personnel/payroll transactions and training. Additionally, the Executive Director is responsible for institutional initiatives related to increasing and maintaining diversity within the campus community and fostering equal opportunity for faculty and staff. Management/Confidential staff are expected to advance the College's focus on student success and completion and will work closely with the College's leadership to advance the mission of the Strategic Plan 2020-2025.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of significant experience in a leadership and managerial role in human resources and budgeting OR Master’s Degree and 7 years of significant experience in a leadership and managerial role in human resources and budgeting.
  • Labor relations experience which encompasses significant exposure to collective bargaining, contract administration, and dispute resolution.

Advertised Salary: $95,000-$110,000/yr. for well-qualified individuals. Salary is determined based upon experience and education, as well as internal equity. The College offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, vision, and dental insurance, long term disability, generous leave policies, paid holidays, pre-tax flexible spending accounts, tax-deferred Compensation, NYS retirement, as well as employee and dependent tuition waivers.
