Reporting to and collaborating with the Finance Director within the assigned institutional Finance Division, provides front-line customer service for staff and faculty through direct support and triage and routing of service requests

3 or more years professional experience in an office or professional setting; completed degrees or other certifications may be substituted for experience, if applicable 
 
• Ability to interact with standard technology platforms (e.g., word processing, data entry, email, internet browsing, etc.) 
• Capacity to quickly learn navigation of an automated accounting system 
• Foundational mathematics and problem-solving skills 
• Ability to read and understand financial statements, written financial policies and regulations, and other relevant documentation 
• Ability to communication clearly, concisely, and accurately, both verbal and in writing, with a wide variety of audiences 
• Excellent interpersonal skills and desire to work in a collaborative environment with System and institutional leaders, as well as colleagues in other departments 
• Openness to 360-degree feedback and desire to learn and grow continuously

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred 
• Additional credentials related to accounting or finance strongly preferred 
• Experience in a financial services or accounting setting strongly preferred 
• Experience operating in a shared service setting preferred 
• Experience working for a tax-exempt organization preferred 
• Knowledge of and/or direct experience with Ellucian Banner systems preferred

Duty/Responsibility

1. Through reception of phone, email, and in-person requests, provides front-of-house support to institutional constituents covering a wide variety of needs and services offered by the Finance Division 
2. Fields basic customer questions regarding financial policies, processes, and resources; directs customers to appropriate resources on the Finance Division or System websites; and provides hands-on support and training with employee self-service and business process initiation as needed 
3. Develops and maintains thorough understanding of the roles and operations within the institutional Finance Division, as well as the USNH Financial Operations Center, and routes customers and service needs to the appropriate departments and individuals 
4. Monitors the general email inbox for the Finance Division, responds directly to service requests of a standard informational nature, and routes or escalates messages and service needs to the appropriate parties 
5. Receives, directs, drafts, and manages Finance Division correspondence, including through the receipt and distribution of office mail and dissemination of communications, reports, and other necessary documents to business units and other internal and external parties 
6. Tracks progress on customer service requests to ensure timely follow-up and resolution 
7. Provides administrative support for staff within the Finance Division, including calendaring, space reservations, travel booking, expense report compilation, office supply monitoring and purchasing, phone line and other infrastructure maintenance, and liaising with IT to address technology needs 
8. Performs related duties, as assigned
