Summary of Position

The Information and Strategic Project Specialist is part of the University of New Hampshire Center of Institutional Effectiveness for Educational Excellence. The Center promotes and supports research and data-informed strategic decisions in support of educational innovations and excellence. The Information and Strategic Project Specialist plays a pivotal role in leveraging data science expertise to evaluate, enhance, and drive strategies aimed at achieving educational excellence across the university. The Information and Strategic Project Specialist will utilize comprehensive data analysis and strategic insights to support senior leadership and the Center of Institutional Effectiveness for Educational Excellence in informed decision-making and innovation within the educational domain.

Other minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (X years) in data analysis, statistical modeling, and proficiency in relevant tools such as Python, R, SQL, etc.
  • Strong understanding of educational frameworks and strategies in higher education institutions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead data-driven initiatives and work collaboratively across diverse teams.
  • Experience in project management and the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.

Duty/Responsibility

Center of Institutional Effectiveness for Educational Excellence:
  • Collaborate with the team to build strategic plans using comprehensive data, information, and narratives to support university-wide goals in student success and educational effectiveness.
  • Aggregate and analyze diverse data sets sourced from various university departments to assess the effectiveness of strategies and initiatives aligned with educational goals.
  • Design and execute robust data collection methodologies tailored to address specific inquiries related to student success and educational effectiveness.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for enhancing student success and educational effectiveness through data analysis and propose innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to understand strategic goals in Educational Excellence and define measurable outcomes.

Duty/Responsibility

Supporting Campus Leaders:
  • Work closely with leaders across campus to provide data-driven support for their strategic plans and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their objectives and provide insightful data analysis that contributes to decision-making processes.
  • Communicate findings, trends, and recommendations in clear and concise reports or presentations to assist leaders in making informed decisions.
  • Provide guidance and expertise in leveraging data information and narratives to strengthen strategic planning initiatives university-wide.
