Job Description

Evaluate new products/processes per customer or industry testing procedures in support of the Corporate Win Strategy. Responsible for the design / set-up / troubleshooting of testing instrumentation, designing of tools, fixtures, and gauges. Execute R&D functions for the product engineering department.

Collaborate with engineers on the requirements for design validation testing, potential design changes, product specifications, serviceability of products and assembly requirements.

-Set-up, run and inspect engineering design validation tests.

-Install, remove and analyze mechanical tests and components.

-Prepare professional engineering test reports.

-Design of testing systems and fixturing. Maintain, calibrate and set-up testing equipment.

-Maintain records and files to support tests, equipment and instrumentation.

-Maintain proper communications, administration, discipline and appropriate daily procedures.

-Develop record and maintain proper work instructions for lab.

-Maintain the highest degree of customer service, throughput, quality, cost reduction and people productivity.

-Perform failure analysis.

-Perform R&D functions to develop new IP for the organization.

Education:

  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.

Experience:

  • Experience in an engineering lab is an additional plus for the position.
  • Previous experience with mechanical testing is beneficial.

Skills:

  • High degree of mechanical aptitude, including fabrication skills.
  • Computer skills required include CAD (Inventor, SolidWorks, Catia, or other), Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Familiarity with data acquisition software and equipments.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs.

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $74,647 annually to 124,548 annually.
