Your Impact:

Our In Vivo Pharmacology team is made up of collaborative, perceptive, out of the box thinkers focused on the development and execution of novel in vivo and invitro assays. Our team partners closely with our various research teams doing important work to support our oncology and rare disease gene therapy studies with a focus on single treatment cures for patients.


Responsibilities:

These may include but are not limited to:

  • Performs various technical procedures such as bleeding, dosing, surgeries, and necropsies.
  • Designs, coordinates, and executes studies in support of research projects with high reproducibility.
  • Understands goals and objectives of model development.
  • Keeps organized detail study records, performs data analysis, evaluates research in vivo studies, and communicates results to the team.
  • Able to troubleshoot research studies, proposing creative solutions.
  • Oversees and performs routine small animal health monitoring, operation/ preventative maintenance of facility equipment and procurement of supplies as required.
  • Performs study protocol tasks including but not limited to xenografts, dosing, and data recording.
  • Maintains Vivarium documents to comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Trains employees in proper laboratory techniques.
  • May coordinate the up-keep and sanitation of the Vivarium
Requirements

Requirements, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree with 2 plus years of previous husbandry experience including experience with immunocompromised animals. AALAS certification of LAT required but AALAS certification of LATg is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Ability to follow all aspects of Vivarium Operations including adherence to regulatory guidelines.
  • Ability to perform basic animal handling, experience with xenografts, dosing, injections through diverse routes.
  • Ability to follow established SOPs and create new ones as required.
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented and have excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to withstand sustained periods of physical activity such as standing, bending, stooping, reaching above shoulder level and the ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Serves as one of the points of contact between vivarium staff and researchers.
  • Works on assignments that are extremely complex in nature in which independent action and a high degree of initiative are required in resolving problems and developing recommendations.
  • Exercises judgement within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action.
  • Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.
  • Ability to travel to and from Poseida offices (1.2 miles)


Research Associate II, In Vivo - In Vivo Pharmacology Pay Rate: $35.58 per hour to $40.74 per hour

The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience with the industry, education, geographic location, etc.
